Spilling ketchup on your clothes is not the end of the world. Ketchup will stain easily if left alone, but if you clean it when it happens it can be easily removed. Here are some tips for ketchup stain removal.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Water
  • Laundry detergent
  1. Step 1

Carefully scrape any excess ketchup away without making the mess worse, a napkin or spoon will work fine for this purpose. Be careful not the dig the ketchup in deeper.

  2. Step 2

Run cold water through the back of the fabric as to not work the ketchup in further. Take a cloth and blot the ketchup spot. Keep running water through it and blotting it until you feel like no more is going to come out using this method.

  3. Step 3

Use your fingers or a cloth and rub laundry detergent into the stain. Rinse and repeat.

  4. Step 4

The second time you work the laundry detergent into the stain you’re going to then let it soak overnight in cold water. In the morning launder it as usual.

Tips & Warnings
  • Check the stain after you wash it to make sure it came out. You don't want to dry it with the stain still there.
