How to Gather a Following of Readers

Popularity counts for something, but quality pieces have even greater value. Developing a following of loyal readers who are both informed and entertained, leaves them feeling they've received something insightful and you feeling accomplished as a writer. There is nothing better than being appreciated for simply sharing your passion and increasing your earning potential as your readership increases. Solidify a lasting relationship between you and your audience so they'll gladly follow you wherever your writing takes them.

1. Keep it Fresh.
   
   Provide hot new content that others haven't covered or with a new twist if they have.

2. Stay connected.
   
   Interact with your readers by commenting on their compelling comments and suggestions. Let them know you've taken notice and that they matter.

3. Ask them what they're interested in.
   
   If you invite suggestions, you may discover ideas you would have overlooked or never considered.

4. Give them what they want.
   
   Oblige your audience when you can. Trust they'll appreciate your efforts when you create articles they request. Search Google trends for possible areas of interest, but rely more on your audience. They're the best judges of what they like.
