The basic formula is one day of fruit and juice dieting for every four days of water fasting. • Often after a fast you will find that eating big meals is harder. This is a result of your stomach and organs shrinking and is a good thing and will help you control how much you eat at meals.
  • Doing a enema or a saltwater flush is not necessary, but can help assist with the detoxification process.
  • On extended fast avoid standing up too fast, because dizziness may occur and blackouts have been known to happen. If you feel dizzy, steady yourself or go down to one knee in order to regain composure.

on 10/3/2009 When I did my water fast I didn't take any supplements. Some people do, but the strategy is to let your body detoxify and harvest old and damaged cells and eliminate excess in your body. By taking supplements this can lessen the degree of detoxification and also force your digestive system to function wasting energy that could be spent on detoxification. Your body will harvest dead tissue, damaged cells and even tumors to acquire needed resources. If you are doing a juice fast. Taking supplements is alright and some people actually recommend it. If you want to consult a physician before beginning feel free, when I consulted my doctor, he said it wasn't required to take any supplements unless I felt the need to take them.
