Ask the customer service representative about payment assistant options available for customers who are unable to pay their bill or facing service disconnection.
Some electric companies will set up reasonable payment arrangements for you or refer you to private and non-profit community-based local and federal organizations-i.e., the LIHEAP-that provide assistance to residents who do not have the money to pay their bill and need energy assistance.
