Dust Away Negativity with a Physical & Spiritual Spring Clean!
Dust Away Negativity with a Physical & Spiritual Spring Clean!
Louise Heyden, www.morguefile.com

Spring-cleaning doesn’t have to be a laborious chore! Seize the opportunity to clear out negativity, invite in new opportunities, and make your home a haven!

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Boxes or biodegradable bin bags
  • Natural cleaning products
  • Cleaning tools (vacuum, broom, cloths, feather duster etc)
  • Incense and/or smudge sticks
  • Singing bowl or bells
  • Essential oils
  • Crystals
  • Uplifting music
  1. Step 1

Clear out the clutter! Place unwanted items into boxes or bags such as “Throw”, “Recycle”, “Sell” or “Charity Shop”. Think hard about items you are not sure about. Do they bring you joy? Are they used? Do they have genuine sentimental value? If not, pass them on to someone who will enjoy them!

  2. Step 2

Once the clutter has gone, tidy up! Get organised with pretty boxes, drawer dividers and clever storage solutions.

  3. Step 3

Put on a groovy apron or novelty cleaning gloves to get you in a happy mood for cleaning! Play lots of motivating music while you clean. Put uplifting essential oils in your cleaning water to boost your mood.

  4. Step 4

Use natural products to clean with. Cleaning chemicals can cause all manner of problems from skin irritations to asthma. Natural means good for the environment and good for you!

  5. Step 5

As you clean, visualise all negative emotions, situations, thought patterns and problems being swept out of the house with the dust and dirt. See them blow away in the wind, never to bother you again!

  6. Step 6

Give the whole house a good clean. View it as a cleansing of your home, banishing negative energy and lifting the house into a positive state. Take advantage of the thorough clean to organise cupboards or brainstorm new decorating ideas.

  7. Step 7

Once the house is physically clean, give it a spiritual clean! Space clearing involves cleansing negative or stagnant energy from the home. Begin by wafting incense or smudge sticks to create a harmonious atmosphere.

  8. Step 8

Clap, ring bells or use a Tibetan singing bowl around the house, particularly in nooks and corners, to get energy moving positively. Visualise negativity leaving the house. Place crystals in each room to soak up electromagnetic rays and unwanted energies.

  9. Step 9

In kitchen witchery, mundane tasks are seen as sacred acts. Change your mindset about cleaning by seeing it as a way to cleanse your living space, create a haven and honor your spirituality.

  10. Step 10

Plan a routine. Once each room has been thoroughly cleaned, establish a regular cleaning ritual to keep on top of things. If you keep up to date with your cleaning, dirt is less likely to build up, making your life easier, and next year’s spring clean a lot less hard work!

Tips & Warnings
  • Get the whole family involved. It shares the workload and makes tasks more fun!
  • Approach tasks with enthusiasm and a positive attitude
  • Don’t waste hours sorting through the clutter. Be quick, honest and ruthless about what stays and what goes!
  • Don’t try to do too much at once. Tackle one room at a time, otherwise you’ll end up in a muddle and demoralized.
