Step 1
Change the batteries in your smoke alarms. And while you are at it, why not change the batteries in all appliances that use batteries such as: flashlights, garage door openers, can openers, and various other well used appliances. Schedule as an annual event to coincide with Daylight Savings Time.
-
Step 2
Restock your home battery supply for the current year. Buy all the different battery sizes that you need. Of course, these purchases can be expensive depending on the number of batteries you use throughout the year. If necessary stretch out the battery purchases over the course of the “Daylight Savings Time” month.
-
Step 3
Schedule as an annual event to coincide with Daylight Savings Time, the purchase of furnace filters. Many furnace technicians suggest that you change your furnace filters 4 times per year which is every three months. Use this time as a reminder to purchase all 4 of the filters you will need at the same time. Buy extras if your technician recommends it.
By doing so, you will already have your filters on hand when it is time to change them and you will also save yourself the three extra trips it would take if you were to purchase the filters separately. -
Step 4
Schedule visits to see health professionals to coincide with Daylight Savings Time. Everyone needs to see the dentist, the eye doctor, and a general practitioner at least once a year.
Also pay dues/fees to organizations/clubs. Stay up to date with relatives that you don’t communicate with on a regular basis. -
Step 5
Throw a celestial costume party for the "kiddies" and adults too. Have fun with it and make it what you want it to be! Of course, it should be scheduled as an annual event to coincide with Daylight Savings Time.
-
Step 6
Plan, once a year, to do something that you have always wanted to do and have never gotten around to doing. Schedule it as an annual event to coincide with Daylight Savings Time.
-
Step 7
Brainstorm ideas of things you need to do or things you could do annually. Start your own Daylight Savings Time reminder notebook. Write down the things mentioned above which are common to everyone; but also include those things which are particular to you.
Keep your Daylight Savings Time reminder notebook in a handy place. During the month of Daylight Savings Time, take out your notebook and mark items off the list as you complete them.
