Make a Caramel Latte
Make a Caramel Latte

This easy latte is even better than Starbucks - and you can make it in your pajamas!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Brewed coffee - the stronger the better
  • Caramel syrup
  • 2% Milk (or whole milk)
  • Whipping Cream
  • Sugar
  1. Step 1

Brew coffee. Pour hot coffee to the halfway point in your latte cup. Be sure it's steaming hot!

  2. Step 2

Add approximately 2 TBSP caramel syrup to the hot coffee, stirring well. For a sweeter latte, add 2 TBSP sugar and mix well.

  3. Step 3

Fill the rest of the cup with milk. You can use whole milk or two percent (I prefer two percent). Either heat the cup in the microwave for about a minute (depending on your microwave's wattage), or heat the milk on the stove before you pour it in the coffee. Bring the milk to just before boiling temperature and pour it in the cup.

  4. Step 4

Next, make the whipped cream. Homemade whipped cream is easy, tastes amazing and it's cheap to make. Alternately, you can use canned whipped cream.

  5. Step 5

For the whipped cream, mix 1 cup of heavy whipping cream with approximately 2 TBSP granulated sugar using a hand mixer. Mix until fluffy. For more flavor, add 1/2 tsp vanilla. I don't like my whipped cream as sweet, so if you prefer sweeter, add more sugar.

  6. Step 6

Dollop the whipped cream on top of the latte, add a decorative drizzle of caramel syrup and there you have it! A perfect caramel latte you can enjoy in your own home and for much less than you'd pay at a coffeehouse.

Tastes just like the Frozen Caramel espresso drinks from Panera Bread! Better than Starbucks Frappuccinos!
