If you can not find the stamp you are looking for or don't want to spend the outrageous prices of rubber stamps, make your own. It is easy once you get the hang of cutting the stamp block. Stamp block is like a flat eraser made especially for the purpose of cutting a shape used for ink and dyes. These rubber stamps can be used forever.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Stamp block
  • Linoleum cutters
  • wood block
  • pencil
  • glue
  • computer printed patterns
  • acetone
  • q-tip
  1. Step 1

    Draw a pattern on your stamp block with the pencil. This pattern with be the area you will see when you ink the stamp. Make the lines thick enough to easily see.
    OR- print your patterns on your computer, place the image ink side down on the stamp block, then dip a Q-tip in acetone and rub the image. Carefully lift the paper to see if the image transfered.

  2. Step 2

    Use the cutters to remove shallow grooves around the pattern. leaving the pencil marks intact. Practice on a spare piece of rubber or linoleum before starting your main project.

  3. Step 3

    Glue the stamp block to the wooden block. Use a glue that sticks to wood and rubber. Epoxy is best.

  4. Step 4

    Your stamp is now ready to be patted into the ink pad and used.

Tips & Warnings
  • Clean you stamps after use
  • Linoleum cutters are sharp! Watch those fingers.
