seo newbieGo to mail.google.com and sign up for an email account that you will use as a junk email account. This account has to be a Gmail account as some of the notifications sent may be blocked by Yahoo or MSN Hotmail or other sites.
Maxxhits.com is a great example of a search engine that will send you email notifications that for some reason work really well in Gmail but sometimes you can't even open up the email in Yahoo mail.
Please add the "http://" part back to the websites listed in this article before you go to the website. -

seo target marketingSign up for a separate Yahoo email account. There are 32 Yahoo Search Engines to submit your website to and in order for the submission to be successful you have to sign into your Yahoo email account to verify your identity.

search engine listingThe next step is to add three little HTML required reciprocal links on your website or Ehow article. This ensures that the website can be submitted to some really great traffic producing websites like Maxxhits, StartRanking.com and Dmegs.com. These three directories and search engines will not submit your website for you without a reciprocal link. The reciprocal links for each are explained below.
These are are small textlinks that could be placed at the bottom of your page. These sites bring major traffic!!
Maxxhits is a website that will help your website get "spidered" or

Dmegs is a directory that touts itself as a DMOZ alternative. Please go to Dmegs.com to get the reciprocal link for your website.

internet adviceThe next search engine that you will want to go to is Zumbit. This is a great website that has 269 search engines and you can submit to all countries which is great.
The only thing with Zumbit is you have to write down which search engines were successful submissions because I have tried time and time again to copy and paste the submission report page and it will not highlight the successful submissions part.
You could also print the pages out but that might be a lot of paper. Save a tree man. :)

web site optimizationf you do not like the idea of writing down your successful search engine submissions each time then you can use another free service called Submit Express. Submit Express gives great traffic especially when combined with the Aim Search Engine.
The only thing you have to do is click on free submission and then click on submit when you get to that first screen as the first website submission screen usually includes a bogus captcha.
The search engines that Submit Express will submit your website to are as follows: Google, What U Seek, Wisenut, Exact Seek, Scrub The Web, Jayde, AOL Search, Hot Bot, Search.com,
Metacrawler, Dogpile, Mamma, C4, Canada.com, Ixquick, Infogrid, Web Info Search, Fast Search (All The Web), Query Server, 800go, Debriefing, Highway 61, 37.com, One Seek, Meta Spider, Vivisimo, Planet Search, QbSearch, ProFusion, Proteus, Go 2 Net, MegaGo.com, WebFile, MyGO, Megacrawler, and Search Climbers.
This is a great search engine for traffic but you cannot deselect anything so make sure that the engines here do not conflict with any other engines later by deselecting the checkboxes in other search engines. Submit your website to Submit Express at:

crack search engineThe Aim Search Engine is next. This great website is the search engine portal for AOL users. The traffic that comes from the Aim Search Engine is good and I like the fact that they let you suggest a category as that helps you to target your search engine ranking even further.

how to seoYou can hand submit your website to all 32 of the Yahoo.com websites by hand. You will need a separate Yahoo email account in order to do this. I recently learned this from an online article called “Tips on Getting Listed in Yahoo (and the other big indexes).” This is a great article on search engine optimization, ranking, seo basics, website promotion, Business Express, Look Smart, Open Directory, About.com, NBCi, Live Directory and more.
I have posted a link to his website article below and if you scroll down on the page you will see all 32 Yahoo search engine submission pages and just copy and paste into your word processing software or your email. You can make a simple graph on graph paper or create an excel spreadsheet of all the different yahoos and your websites to be submitted and just check off which ones you submitted to what search engine and the date as there will be no submission report for the Yahoos since you are hand submitting each one to the search engines manually.
I started off submitting each website and then updating the website submission spreadsheet in Excel but I realized that it took too much of my time so I switched to a paper spreadsheet and it is much easier for me. Try the manual paper way and the Excel electronic medium way and see what works best for you.
If you like the Excel electronic medium way of keeping track of your website submissions then email a copy of your spreadsheet to yourself in your Gmail email account. Google will automatically turn your Excel spreadsheet into a Google Docs document and that gives you a “virtual office” that you can use anywhere that you can use the Internet.

best seoThe next step is to submit your website to all of the Google websites. I counted over 70 Google websites on this search engine. However, the problem is that some of these search engines conflict with Zumbit.com so what you would do is you would click on check all at the top of the page and then go to each column and uncheck the following search engines so that they do not conflict with Zumbit. You also have to be aware that if it was not a successful submission in Zumbit then you can resubmit to that search engine here if it did not go through the first time in Zumbit. This is just a list of general things to uncheck that conflict with Zumbit but you can look at the successful submissions list for Zumbit that you made earlier to be sure.
