Dog unite as Dog beaches in the Los Angeles area are available and ready to run at, if you just know where to look. Dog beaches are a little bit different than traditional dog parks. Full of four legged creatures enjoying the crashing waves, you won't find too many hounds just waiting for their owners to go home. Here's how to find the perfect dog beach in Los Angeles for your dog!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Consider what dog beach is closest. Contact your local city recreation department to see if they offer a dog beach for residents (of course you need to live on the beach or call a city close to a beach.)

  2. Step 2

Grab the dog and haul butt down to Huntington Beach. Just south of the downtown pier, it isn't a brain to see all the doggies walking the sand in the sun. Hundreds of dogs enjoy this mile stretch of sand and your dog will too.

  3. Step 3

Go to Marina Del Ray and walk the inlet. While it is completely illegal to step foot on the sand at any Los Angeles beach areas, the inlet to the Marina Del Ray happens to be concret all the way to the ocean. Not only a great place for the dogs (and legal) it is beautiful and full of wonderful views.

  4. Step 4

Malibu has several beach areas that are open to four legged friends. These are seasonal dog beaches and need to be located online through the Malibu city government.

  5. Step 5

If you're longing to see lots of ships, take a drive down to Long Beach and play on the sand at the Long Beach Dog Beach. This dog beach / dog park is a great area for the dogs and full of views. It does have hours (sounds strange but true) so do check the City of Long Beach website for details.
