Things You'll Need:
- Tires
-
Step 1
When the time comes get down to the level of your tire.
-
Step 2
You can find the tire size in between the tire name and manufacturer name.
-
Step 3
The first thing you size with start with is a letter. This letter is typically a P which stands for passenger tire.
-
Step 4
Next will be a number which represents the width of the tire in millimeters. An example of this is 185.
-
Step 5
The second number of the tire size represents the ratio of height to width (aspect ratio). This will be a number 50-70 for a typical passenger car.
-
Step 6
You will have a letter seperating the numbers which is usually an R which stand for Radial
-
Step 7
The number after the R in the previous step shows your diameter of wheel in inches. This number will vary from 13-22. Basically its the size of your rims for the tire.
-
Step 8
To find your recommended air pressure you might have to search around the tire a little bit. The air pressure recommendation is found around the rim of the tire typically by the tire name.
