Things You'll Need:
- 16 Ounces Cream Cheese
- 12 Ounces Parmesan Cheese, finely grated
- 1 Cup Sweet or Salted Butter
- 3 1/2 Cups Milk
- 3 Teaspoons Garlic Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Onion Powder
- Salt and Black Pepper to Taste
- Large Sauce Pan
- Whisk
-
Step 1
Start by heating one cup of sweet or salted butter in a large saucepan until it is melted, over low to medium heat. Gently whisk in 16 ounces of cream cheese, 3 teaspoons garlic powder, and 1 teaspoon onion powder. You must continue to whisk to prevent the cream cheese from scorching. Start to slowly add in 3 1/2 cups of milk and continue whisking.
-
Step 2
Once the Alfredo sauce is warm throughout, slowly add in finely grated Parmesan cheese and continue to whisk. After the Parmesan cheese is incorporated, cook sauce over low heat for two minutes, while whisking slowly, to allow the Alfredo sauce to thicken up. Season with salt and black pepper as needed.
-
Step 3
Remove saucepan from the stove burner and allow Alfredo sauce to rest for another two minutes before pouring over cooked pasta. Goes great with any kind of pasta. We like to use small Gemelli pasta, Penne Rigate, or even elbow macaroni.
