Step 1
Avoid drinking alcoholic beverages. Alcoholic beverages cause a chemical reaction in your system therefore some of the normal processes that occur when you sleep are altered. Studies have proven that drinking alcohol increases the incidence of snoring and makes it louder than usual.
-
Step 2
Limit your food intake at dinner. It is recommended to avoid eating too much especially at dinner time or before you sleep because during sleeping, the metabolic process is slower. The food that you eat will just cause abdominal distention, which increases the workload of the lungs during breathing.
-
Step 3
Change your sleeping position. If you're used to sleeping on your back, then it is now time to shift position and might as well change to the side-lying position. Sleeping on your back prevents your lungs to expand that causes you to snore.
-
Step 4
Take time to exercise. You should be physically fit in order to promote good circulation in your body. Snoring can be also caused by obstructions of fatty tissues; therefore, you should start eliminating your excess fat through exercise.
-
Step 5
Seek medical help. There are rare cases when snoring is caused by a physical deformity. Visit your doctor to perform a check up on you.
