Laundry detergent bottles can quickly become plentiful in any household. The problem is, some detergent bottles cannot be recycled - so what do you do with all of these plastic jugs? The garage is the perfect place to reuse laundry detergent bottles.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Laundry detergent bottles
  • Handsaw or other sawing tool
  1. Step 1

USE YOUR DETERGENT CONTAINER TO STORE OLD RAGS

The large base of your leftover laundry detergent can be reused into a rag bin. Cut off the top of the bottle and use the base as a bin, if you need the bin to be secure, try screwing a small screw into a wood shelf in your garage shelves. If you have a larger detergent bottle you can turn it on it's side and nail into the wall and use as a wall-bin.

  2. Step 2

    DISPENSE LIQUIDS

Laundry detergent bottles that use a spigot to dispense the liquids are a great way to dispense other fluids you use frequently in the garage. From paint thinner to tap water for clean up, an old laundry detergent bottle can be recycled to dispense useful garage fluids.

  3. Step 3

USE YOUR LAUNDRY DETERGENT BOTTLE AS A FUNNEL

Cut off the base of your laundry detergent bottle and sand the edges to soften them. Once your edges are soft you can throw away the lid and use the clean laundry detergent bottle as a funnel for auto maintenance projects or other liquid disposal.

Tips & Warnings
  • ALWAYS thoroughly clean your detergent containers before reusing them in any way to avoid contamination and possible toxic reactions.
