Things You'll Need:
- one or two cups of fresh or frozen fruit like raspberries, strawberries, bananas or blueberries, one or two cups of plain or vanilla yogurt, sugar or honey, ice, a blender
-
Step 1
Gather whatever fruit you have in the house. I usually pick items that are about to go bad if not eaten right away. It can be bananas, raspberries, blueberries, strawberries—anything. Let the kids choose what they want in it.
-
Step 2
Throw a couple of handfuls in the blender.
-
Step 3
Add a cup of yogurt for one cup of fruit in the blender. I use Stoneyfield Farms,
Fage, or Dannon vanilla or plain yogurt. You can also use whatever yogurt you have in the house. -
Step 4
If the fruit is not in the best condition, I let the kids add a little sugar or honey—a teaspoon or so. My boys won’t eat it if it isn’t sweet enough!
-
Step 5
Tough CustomersTop it off with ice to fill the blender up. Have the kids turn the blender on and voila, a healthy treat that even the toughest customers eagerly drink up!

on 6/11/2009 Thanks for the great recipe, I have some bananas in the fridge that froze because they were too close to the cooling element and now their kinda mushy. Now I know what I can use them for.
