How to Exercise While Sitting at Your Computer
You know that you should be up exercising but the pull to sit at your computer is even more demanding of your attention. Perhaps you work from home or use the Internet for school or are addicted to your favorite gaming site. Whatever your reason, it's still no excuse for not exercising. You can do some simple exercises sitting right there in your office chair.
Things You'll Need

1
Squeeze your gluteus maximus muscles. Flex them, hold for 10 seconds and then release. Do a minimum of eight repetitions and repeat several times a day. This is actually an excellent way of toning your glutes.
-
2
Purchase ankle and wrist weights. These are not expensive. You may even have some laying around already. Slide them on. The ankle weights are especially useful as you can work away on your keyboard as you lift your legs up and down. The wrist weights are nice for watching your favorite online movies.

Buy an electronic mini Stepper and slip it under your desk so you can step away and type at the same time. For a more complex workout, stand up while exercising and typing at the same time. Make it fun by seeing how long you can keep this multitasking up.

4
Stand up and stretch for two minutes per every 15 to 20 minutes you spend working on the computer. Look at something else other than your computer monitor while you do this. Your eyes need a break from the computer screen as well.

Get a hand grip exerciser or even one of those silly stress balls. This may reduce your risk of carpal tunnel syndrome. Besides, it's fun!
