With Easter own it's way we are all looking forward to Easter egg hunts with family and friends. Here are some steps that you can take to make the Easter festivals fun for all ages and not go broke.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • plastic Easter eggs
  • some small toys
  • some coins
  • Easter candy
  • a few bigger prizes(chocolate bunny, bubbles)
  • eggs
  • egg coloring

  1. Step 1

Small inexpensive toys- Buy small toys after each holiday when they go on clearance, put them back and save for Easter. You might also check out oriental trade.
Bigger toys for prizes- A filled Easter basket, or a stuffed bunny usually works well.

  2. Step 2

Coins- The coins regular money or the children love to get old coins, gold dollars, you may even use play coins. You can usually find coins that children will think is pretty cool in your change, if you check your change all year you'll have quit a collection for Easter or you could check the bank to see what they have.

  3. Step 3

Candy- any kind of Easter candy will work, buying the candy right before Easter usually is cheaper, it usually goes on sale.
A candy bunny maybe used for a prize.

  4. Step 4
Coloring eggs can be done outside to cut down on the mess.

Invite your guest about 2 weeks before hand and get them to R.S.V.P that way you'll know before you buy the candy and prizes how many, and the ages of all your guest.

  5. Step 5

Fill your eggs and color your eggs before the hunt. Get help from the other parents. Sort the children in different age groups or have hunting buddies, older kids paired up with younger kids. Know how the children will be separated before the egg hunt that make the egg hunt go more smoothly.

  6. Step 6
    where did that egg go

When the guests arrive have some of the parents hide the eggs while some of the parents play games with the children. ex pin the tail on the bunny.

  7. Step 7

Handing out the prizes- I usually have one for the one that finds the most and the one that finds the least and of course the prize egg. If you have different age groups you will need one for each group.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure if you have chocolate candy in your eggs hide them out of the sun.
  • Have a few extra baskets or bags for children to use that forgotten their basket
  • Your kids may want to help color the eggs and stuff them with goodies.
  • Make sure that the toys and candy for little children is age approaite.
  • Check for allergies
