Step 1
Understand what's going on with online surveys. Marketing companies produce these surveys and have other websites distribute them to their members. By signing up to a site, you will be emailed when a new survey opportunity comes up. Some survey sites will credit you with points, some with money that is stored in an "account," some send you a check for the survey, and others put you in a drawing for a prize.
-
Step 2
Start searching for some online survey sites. Use any search engine, like Google, and see what's out there. Check their legitimacy by looking up reviews for specific sites.
NEVER pay to use a survey site. Only use the free sites. -
Step 3
When you sign up to a site, you will receive email invitations as surveys become available. It is best to do a survey as soon as you can because many are only open until the desired number of surveys have been completed. If you do not qualify for a survey, some sites will still pay you a small amount for your time.
-
Step 4
Take your time with the surveys. Answer to the best of your ability and as honestly as possible. Your patience and diligence will be paid off in the long run.
-
Step 5
Don't expect wads of cash. Most surveys (if you qualify and complete it) will pay a few dollars. And many times, you won't qualify for the survey. But don't be discouraged. Over time, your money will accumulate and you will make enough money to make it worth your while.

on 3/13/2009 Your right about not making much. :) I did so many survey sites that I lost track of who all owes me money, and how much.
