Google alerts are a handy way to keep up on information that is relevant to you for your website, or blog. Google Alerts are also just helpful for informational purposes. You can set up an Alert with Google and they will email you an update on your subject. You can find out about things that are happening in the world of celebrities, or sports event. You can also stay on top of news stories that are happening anywhere in the world. Maybe you have a website or blog and you want to stay alert about what is happening in the industry in which you are involved. Whatever your intent, Google Alerts are a great way to stay informed about your specified topic.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    You can go to Google Alerts at http://www.google.com/alerts to set up your first Alert with Google.

  2. Step 2

    In the search term area, put in whatever topic on which you would like to keep tabs. This can be anything from a certain industry, to a specific television show. You can receive a Google Alert about just about anything you would like.

  3. Step 3

    Put in the type of Google Alert you would like to receive. Do you want The information to be comprehensive, meaning very detailed? Would you like the Alert to come from a blog or a news feed? Maybe you would like the Google Alert to come in the form of a video. Just choose your favorite option.

  4. Step 4

    Pick how often you would like to receive a Google Alert. Would you like to be updated on a daily basis, once a week, or as the event is happening. All of these options are available.

  5. Step 5

    The final step is to put in the email address where you would like the alert delivered. After this, you just click Create Alert. You will begin receiving the Google Alerts based on how often you have chosen.

  6. Step 6

    Google Alerts is a great way to stay on top of any information that can be accessed on the internet. If you launch Google Alerts you will always be well informed about your chosen topic. Look in resources below for a direct link to the Google Alerts page.
