This article describes the steps to retweet another person's twitter post or "tweet". This is a valuable way to pass along valuable information that you find on twitter, while giving credit where credit is due.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  • Internet connection
  • Twitter account
  1. Step 1

Open twitter at https://twitter.com. Create a free account if needed.

  2. Step 2

    Find an interesting twitter posting.

  3. Step 3

Enter the word "Retweet" or abbreviated "RT" into the box below "What are you doing now?"

  4. Step 4

Enter the original poster's name with the "@" symbol in front on the name. There is no space between the name and "@" symbol.

  5. Step 5

Highlight the person's twitter post with your cursor, making sure to include any links. Copy the post using your edit pull down or "ctrl + C" shortcut.

  6. Step 6

Paste the entire post into the "What are you doing?" box. Then click the "Update button." Congratulations, you just "retweeted" something that your followers may enjoy while giving credit to your source!

on 10/14/2009 Your instructions are great. People should only follow you, the others are wrong. I learnt not to hit reply but type in RT and then @CarrollAyo manually or there is no easily link for readers.
