How to Make Garlic Bread

My family loves garlic, and it's good for us! We eat garlic bread with most of our meals. So, instead of buying garlic bread, I figured ... why not make my own and help to save money.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Butter
  • Parsley flakes
  • Garlic clove
  • Bread (wheat is better)
  1. Step 1

In a small sauce pan, melt the butter and add parsley flakes and finely chopped garlic clove. The amount of butter, parsley flakes and garlic clove will vary and depend on how much bread you're going to cook. For six or seven slices of bread, I use three cloves, if not more.

  2. Step 2

While the butter mixture is melting on a low heat, cut the loaf of bread in half. You can use slices of bread or buns, too. When I make my own garlic bread, I normally use sliced whole wheat bread, hamburger/hot dog or hoagie buns. Any bread is good.

  3. Step 3

With a spoon, cover the top of the bread with the butter/garlic mixture to give it a buttery garlic flavor.

  4. Step 4

Put the bread into your toaster or conventional oven and cook to the desired preference. Let it cool for a few minutes, or eat it when it's hot.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can use the butter/garlic mixture as a dip for chicken pieces, strips, pizza and bread.
  • Another way you could make the garlic bread is to pour some of the butter/garlic mixture in skillet and heat it up. Once the mixture is heated up, put the bread in the skillet on top of the butter/garlic mixture and brown it on both sides. If you do it this way, be careful not to put too much mixture in the skillet, so the bread doesn't become soggy.

on 3/5/2009 I love garlic bread, thanks for this recipe, it makes sense to melt the butter mixture first. And dipping sauce- yum! 5*s!
