Letter F activities are an educational way to help your preschooler recognize the letter. You can plan activities based on words that start with the letter F to increase recognition. Here are some activities to get you started.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Make a garden of family flowers. Trace hand outlines of all family members on brightly colored construction paper. Use 2 or 3 handprints to form the flower. Make a stem and leaves out of green construction paper.

  2. Step 2

Print out a large letter F template. Cover the letter F with brightly colored craft feathers.

  3. Step 3

Make paper fans. Fold a colorful piece of paper accordion style. Gather one end so the other end fans out.

  4. Step 4

Have preschoolers make their own flags as a letter F activity. Show them several different types of flags before they start on their own flags.

  5. Step 5

Create a family tree. Find a small branch outside with several forks. Make a tag for each member of the family. Attach the tags to the branch. Place some small rocks in a coffee can and put the branch in the rocks.

  6. Step 6

Make fruit kabobs for snack. Cut up fruit pieces ahead of time. Give each preschooler a skewer. Assist the children in placing the fruit pieces on their skewers.

  7. Step 7

Shut off the lights and give each child a flashlight. Allow them to explore with the flashlights. Show them how to create shadows.

  8. Step 8

Use a fly swatter for painting. Take the kids outside and give each one a fly swatter. Dip the fly swatter in paint and hit the paper with it.

Tips & Warnings
  • Craft feathers can be found in the craft section near the other kids' craft supplies.
