  • Liquid Foundation
  • Concealer
  • Green Concealer
  1. Step 1

    Choose The Right Foundation For Your Skin Type. There are so many great liquid foundations available right now. The most expensive aren't necessarily the best, over the counter makeup brands work just as well as expensive department store foundations.

    If your skin is oily, then look for an oil free foundation. If you have dry skin then look for a foundation specially formulated for dry skin. All skin types should choose a light foundation so that your skin can breathe.

    Choosing a Concealer. You will probably need two different concealers. Get a concealer one shade lighter than your skin tone. The lighter color will cover the dark areas cause by acne. If your skin is especially oily look for a concealer with an active acne treatment in it, you will find links in the resources box below. If you have red spots from acne and acne scars, get a green concealer to neutralize the red spots and then follow with the regular concealer.

    How to Hide Acne with Makeup. Wash your face with a good quality face wash and follow up with moisturizer. Treat current acne breakouts with a spot treatment.

    * Neutraize read spots with your green concealer. Dab green concealer on your clean finger or clean makeup sponge and then dab on to red spots. Be sure you dab, or pat, no matter what, don't rub your face, this pushes bacteria further into your skin.

    * Next apply your regular concealer that is one shade lighter to all your dark areas on your face. Repeat the dabbing or patting until concealer is well blended.

    * Foundation is applied next. Apply foundation lightly again, with dabbing or patting motions.

    * Follow up with a pressed powder to set makeup.

    Most acne is preventable. Get proactive and take charge of your acne! Dietary changes, proper skin care, and getting the right vitamins and minerals will have your skin looking beautiful in a week or two.
