Instructions

    • 1

Visit websites that allow you to view and track all of your financial accounts at once such as mint.com, wesabe.com and geezeo.com (see Resources below). These sites have varying levels of service, but you can at least track your debt and spending on all of them. Some sites let you enter your cash transactions as well; others don't.

    • 2

Electronically link your bank account with your money management account (which these sites require), and then they can break down your spending and deposits in a number of ways using tables, charts and graphs. This can save you money by showing you what you're spending and where.

Take advantage of the websites' group forums to get ideas, support and advice from other members. Some sites even offer expert advice. In order to get started you will have to create a username and password. And don't worry, all connections with these sites are encrypted for your privacy.

Tips & Warnings

  • NEVER program your ID and password in on your laptop computer. This would allow any thief that took your laptop to access your entire financial database!

Wow, I did not know about sites like these, and never thought about possible repercussions from lap top theft. Thanks for everything. 5*
