Step 1
Check a weather almanac to find out what the weather was like the year before on your wedding date. Some months tend to be rainier than others, so you may want to be flexible about your wedding date.
-
Step 2
Call state and city parks with beaches. Many charge only a small fee, if anything at all for wedding use.
-
Step 3
Check on possible charges for picnic pavilions. These make a great location for a reception.
-
Step 4
Coffee cans can be used to hold floral decorations.Once a location and final date have been chosen, it's time to consider decorations. Old coffee cans can be used to hold flowers. You can spray paint them any color you choose and tie a decorative ribbon around them. Ask your coffee-drinking friends if they can save their used coffee cans. You could also check at diners.
Remember you're wedding will be in a beautiful natural setting. It isn't necessary to decorate a lot. Just a few simple floral displays will work wonderfully. -
Step 5
Instead of spending money on chair rentals, ask those attending to bring sheets and blankets to sit on instead.
-
Step 6
If you know anyone who plays an instrument, such as a guitar or the trumpet, ask them if they would be willing to play a few songs for you wedding. If you give them enough notice, most are glad to help with your special day.
-
Step 7
Consider making the reception a potluck dinner. Ask everyone to bring a simple dish. The only thing you'll need to provide will be plates, flatware and beverages.
