Credit cards can be very useful especial if you have an emergency and you don't have the cash in your hand. At the same time they can be very dangerous. By dangerous I mean you can rack up a large debt fairly quickly. You do not want your card debt to cause bad credit. This is why you should use them carefully. You may not know if you have a problem. This article is a quiz that will allow you to check and see if you have bad habits when you use your credit card.

    One of the first steps in controlling your credit card spending is admitting you have a problem. The following questions will help you see if you have a credit card spending problem and what areas you need to pay more attention to in order to fix your problem.

    Do you wait for the end of the month, when you receive your credit card bill, to see how much you have charged on your credit card rather than keep track of all your credit card spending as it occurs?

    Do you use your credit card for every thing you purchase?

  4. Step 4
     

    Have you reached the spending limit on 1 or more of your credit cards?

  5. Step 5
     

    When you go out to dinner with a group of friends do you pay the entire bill with your credit card and have your friends reimburse you with cash?

    Do you only make the minimum payment on your credit card each month?

  7. Step 7
     

    Do you make frequent cash advancements from your credit card because you don't have enough money in your bank account?

    Do you use some of your savings or invested money to pay off your credit card bills?

    Have you been turned down for credit because you have credit card debt?

    Has your credit card spending brought down your credit score?

    If you answered yes to any of these questions you have some credit card problems. You may be able fix your problems simple by changing a few bad habits. Or you may need more serious help. Either way do not make the mistake of letting a bad credit card habit get out of control.

  • If you have some serious debt you may want to consider credit card counseling and looking into a program for debt relief.
  • A bad credit score can cause serious problems in your life. You will have problems buying a house, getting a bank account, renting an apartment, buying a car or even getting a loan. Your credit score can even effect your chances of getting a job. Take care of your credit score.
