Things You'll Need:
- Internet
- Knowledge of your health concerns
-
Step 1
Before you even start your search for holistic or natural doctors you must have a solid understanding of what you need from the doctor. Some doctors specialize in specific problems so you would be wise to understand what you are looking for from them before contacting them.
-
Step 2
The American Holistic Medical Association is a great resource for finding holistic doctors. On the homepage of their website they have information about holistic medicine and treatments and in the upper right there is a link to find a holistic practitioner.
-
Step 3
Use the find a practitioner button to start your search for a holistic http://forms.ehow.com/contribute.aspx?id=&panel=2#doctor near you. The search is built where you can look for a doctor by name if you have been referred, by location if you want to look for someone nearby, or by area of specialty if you want treatment for a specific problem. I suggest searching by both your state and your specific problem.
-
Step 4
When looking to find the best holistic doctor it is a good idea to consider what kind of training they have had. I tend to believe that it is great when you find a medical doctor who uses natural treatments, but those are also harder to find than natural doctors.
-
Step 5
Take a notebook with your symptomsWhen you find a holistic doctor you wish to visit make sure you have a complete list of all your symptoms for them when you go to your first appointment. Probably even more than a regular doctor a holistic doctor needs to know your background and all of your symptoms very thoroughly.
