Things You'll Need:
- Hairdryer
- Volumizing Product
- Velcro Rollers
- Round Brush
-
Step 1
Towel Dry Hair. Don't rub hair; this frizzes the hair strand. Flip your hair upside down and wrap a towel around your hair, twisting the towel to withdraw the water without rubbing.
-
Step 2
Work in Volumizing Product. Mousses are very good for this; I particularly like Charles Worthington's Big Hair line, but Aussie products are also very good.
-
Step 3
Flip Hair over, and Blow Dry. Without using a brush or your fingers, infuse the roots with a blast of heat, drying the strands out slightly. Be sure to do this in the opposite direction you want hair to lay (ie, flipping hair over) to get the most volume.
-
Step 4
Section By Section, Blow Dry with a Round Brush. The bigger the better for the round brush! Take a section of hair and pull straight up; blow the roots dry, then dry the rest of the the hair around the brush.
-
Step 5
Add Hairspray (optional; recommended for fine hair). Flip hair over again and spray hairspray at the roots. Let dry for a second and flip hair back over.
-
Step 6
Curl the Top around Rollers. Curl the top sections of hair over velcro rollers; the cooling stage is where most people lose their volume. By letting hair cool around the rollers, you get a lush wave and full body.
