You’ve installed the Beta version of Internet Explorer 8 and now you just want to get rid of it! This article will guide you through the removal process of Explorer 8 for Vista and automatically revert to Internet Explorer 7 in 3 easy steps!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Windows Vista
  • Internet Explorer 8 installed
  • Less than 2 minutes
  1. Step 1
    Start Menu

    First of all, close all open windows, internet browsers, games, etc.

  2. Step 2

    What to Click

    Click on START (the window icon) in the lower left hand corner and type “Appwiz.cpl”, you will see the program with an icon at the top of the start menu. Click it and a task pane will open.

  3. Step 3
    Uninstall Explorer 8
     
    Uninstall Explorer 8

    In the task pane click on “View Installed Updates” on the left under tasks. All of your updates will appear in the Window, search for and click on “Windows Internet Explorer 8 Release Candidate 1”, keep in mind that later installs may have varying install numbers. An alert box will open asking if you want to uninstall the update. Click yes and follow the instructions to restart your computer.

    If an alert box should pop up wanting administrator access just sign on with your password or click “Continue”. That’s all there is to it! Your Internet Explorer program will automatically revert to Explorer 7!
