A Soldier's Prayer

More and more of our soldier's are in danger. Don't know how to pray a prayer for a soldier? Here is how to pray a soldier's prayer whether you are a soldier or love one and hope for their safety.

Instructions

    • 1

PRAY FOR THE SOLDIER TO STAY TRUE TO WHO THEY ARE.
War is a terrible horror to live through, much less live in. Pray that this soldier would stay committed to truth, justice, courage, honor, and other traits that make her what she is. "God, please help this soldier be true and just in a false and unjust world. Give them strength and courage to face each task."

PRAY FOR THE SOLDIER TO SEE THE BIGGER PICTURE.
Pray that the soldier doesn't become so lost in the event and the moment that they forget why they signed up for service. Pray their convictions and principles remain in tact. Every soldier is given assignments that serve a larger strategy. "God, please help this soldier envision a better world as a result of this horrible war. Help him see a vision of justice, where there is oppression, violence, and hate."

      PRAY FOR THE SOLDIER'S SAFETY.
No other concern weighs more on the soldier, or on those the soldier loves. "God, please spare this soldier the ultimate sacrifice unless it is absolutely necessary. Spare the family of this soldier the pain of helping them heal. Keep them safe. Protect them from injury in training or in battle, in peace time or in war. And if they are injured, may you bring them home to heal with those they love."

      PRAY FOR PEACE.
The only way for soldier's to ultimately be safe is for peace to settle in where war has reigned. "God, bring peace to this world. Bring peace to [the soldier's station] and bring our men and women home. Give our leaders the wisdom to know when to fight, and when to walk away in dignity. Amen."

Tips & Warnings

  • Pray your heart to God in your own words. You don't have to find a written prayer.

  • If you have anger, rage, frustration, or confusion don't leave them out of your praying.

  • Avoid becoming stuck in bitter or hateful prayers. You might begin there. But don't end there.
