How to Turn Your Keyboard Into an International Keyboard - Windows XP

Having access to an international keyboard, without changing your keyboard can be priceless if you often type in languages other than English. An International keyboard can help you avoid the hassle of painstakingly typing codes for each accent and symbol.
In just a few simple steps you can turn your keyboard into an international keyboard.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Windows XP computer
  • Keyboard
  1. Step 1

    Open up your Control Panel

    (Click Start, Control Panel)

  2. Step 2

    Double click to open the Regional and Languages option

  3. Step 3

    In the new window click the Languages tab.

    Click the details button. Another window will pop up.

    In the new window click the add button.

    The Add Input window will appear. Click the Keyboard IME bring down menu, select United States - International.

    Select ok, then apply. This will apply a little bar on your computer screen.

    Click the new small keyboard icon on your toolbar.
    This will display your availble keyboards and allow you to switch between keyboards as necessary.

  9. Step 9

    You are now ready to type using an International Keyboard!
