Instructions

      copper shut off

      First you will want to turn the water off leading to the fixture you are working on. Usually the shut offs are under the sink. You may need to go in the basement if the house is old, Sometimes the water shut off for the sink is below the floor.

      crystal handle

      Turn the faucet on to make sure water is off. remove the cap that covers the screw that holds the handle in place. Remove the screw and the handle.

      delta cold  or hot stem

      After you have removed the handle you will see a stem, remove the retaining nut, Carefully with a pair of pliers wiggle and pull up on the stem. It may be necessary to place a screwdriver under the stem to loosen it

      hot/ cold seats w/ spings

      Look down the cavity where the stem was you will see a black ring, Insert a screwdriver in the hole and remove the seat and spring below it. A good way to reinstall the new one is to slide the seat onto the screwdriver then the spring, Make sure they are facing the right way. Now stick the screwdriver into the hole letting the spring and seat fall into place.

      Take the stem and put it back in place, tighten the retaining nut with your hands then 1/4 turn with a wrench, place the handle back on screw it down and then replace the cap. Turn the water back on and test for leaks and operation
