There are times when you may want to disable your pop up blockers in Window XP Internet Explorer in order to allow certain websites to open up windows necessary for using that particular website. Or maybe you just want to allow pop ups to run on your computer at all times. The pop up blocker can be a very annoying feature when you do not know how to disable.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

To allow pop ups on your in Internet Explorer 7.0, open up your internet explorer browser window, and click on tools. Not all pop-ups are computer viruses or vundo. Some pop-ups may be necessary for website functioning.

  2. Step 2

Scroll down to internet options and left click.Click on the security tab, then click on internet. Click on "Custom Level."

  3. Step 3

Once this window opens, scroll almost to the bottom. Look for "Use Pop Up Blocker." Click "Disable," then click "Ok."

  4. Step 4

Now click on the "Local Internet" icon that is next to the "Internet" icon. Again, click on "Custom Level." Again, scroll down towards the bottom and where it says, "Use Pop Up Blocker," click "Disable."

  5. Step 5

You have now told your computer to allow pop ups in both the internet and local intranet, so you should have no more trouble with general popups. You can go back in at any time, and enable the pop up blocker if you so choose. Just follow the steps and click "Enable."

  6. Step 6

You can also go to tools, internet options, and then click on "Privacy." Just click the "Turn on Pop Up Blocker" box to remove the checkmark if it is there. This will turn off your pop up blocker as well and allow pop ups on your computer or laptop. Some pop ups are necessary to allow certain websites to operate, and not all are related to viruses or vundo in your computer, so there are times when you may want to disable your pop-up blocker for optimal website functionality.
