Remove Carpet Dents
Remove Carpet Dents

You buy a new piece of furniture or rearrange a room and you are confronted with ....... the dreaded carpet dents. Not to worry, a few minutes of effort and the dents will disappear. This procedure will work with wall to wall carpet and area carpets.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Clean water
  • Fork
  1. Step 1

Use a fork to fluff up the carpet in the dent. Don't go overboard, just a few passes to loosen up the compressed carpet tufts.

  2. Step 2

Furniture will sometimes discolor the carpet over time. If needed, scrub the carpet clean with water, a mild clear soap (dish soap can be used) and a clean toothbrush or soft scrub brush.

  3. Step 3

Fill the dent to the top with clean water. Use the fork again to work the water in to the carpet. If you have an area rug on wood floors, place a plastic bag under the carpet before filling with water so the wood does not get stained.

  4. Step 4

Let the water evaporate. If the carpet dent is not completely gone, repeat the process.
