These days caring for your skin can get a little pricy. And as the economy worsens it only makes sense to cut down your spending on personal skin care products. The following is a step-to-step guide, which explains another great use for baking soda.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • About a Tablespoon of baking soda (may be a little more or a little less)
  • about a 1/2 Tablespoon of water
  • a sink or shower
  1. Step 1

Wet face with warm water to open up pores.

  2. Step 2

Place baking soda in palm of hand, cupping hand to ensure no spillage of the powder.

  3. Step 3

Add a dash of water (approximately 1/2 Tablespoon). The exact measures may vary.

  4. Step 4

Next, use pointer finger of unoccupied hand to stir the mixture. The object is to get a nice pasty consistency. Add more water and baking soda if the concoction is too runny or too thick. You want to be able to spread it on your face easily without it running down your arms.

  5. Step 5

When appropriate consistency is reached, rub mixture on face avoiding area around the eyes. Try to massage in circles. Do this motion for about a minute or until you feel your face is completely exfoliated.

  6. Step 6

Lastly, rinse with warm water and pat dry.

Tips & Warnings
  • This can also be used as a body wash.
  • Can be used in place of soap.
