How to Create a Button for a Linked In Profile

If you are using Linked In to maintain and build a network of professional contacts, it will help you to publicize your membership with a badge. The badge can be placed on your website or blog and will lead people to your profile on Linked In. Here are the steps.

Things You'll Need

• An Internet connection
• A Linked In account
• A place to display your button

Instructions

1. Register with Linked In to create a badge if you are not already a member.

2. Once you are signed in to your account on Linked In, click the Profile link in the menu at the left.

3. 

   Be sure you select the tab for "Edit My Profile" rather than the "View My Profile" tab.

   You can edit various settings in your Profile while under this tab. Look at the last option in the section where it says Public Profile and you'll see a small [Edit] link on the right. Click Edit.

5. 

   When the page for editing your profile opens, find the link that says, "Promote your profile with a customized button." Click that link.

6. 

   You can choose from a number of configurations for a Linked In button from this page. Make a choice and copy the code Linked In provides.

7. Paste the code on your own web page, blog or anywhere else you would like to bring attention to your profile on Linked In.
