How to Celebrate Chinese New Year in Hong Kong

Chinese New Year is a traditional festival in Hong Kong. We all like this festival because there is a special custom of the festival that people who have not married yet can get "red packets" from the elderly.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Few days before Chinese New Year, do a thorough clean-up at home which is a traditional culture for the Chinese. It means to expel all the unlucky things in this year and welcome a good start in the coming new year.

  2. Step 2

    Decorate your home. Buy some red banners which is some red paper with auspicious messages and stick them on the wall. Also, flowers is needed too. In Hong Kong, people like buying "tao hua" and kumquat.

  3. Step 3

    Make some traditional "dim sum", like turnip cake, fried crispy dumpling with peanut filling, taro rice cake....Also, buy some melon seeds and candies and put in the container.

  4. Step 4

    People like to go to the good flower market and during Chinese New Year, people will go to their relatives' homes with presents. And the elder people will give red packets to the children.

  5. Step 5

    Go to Tsim Sha Shui to view fireworks and some ornamental decorated vehicle going on patrol.
