Shuffle Poker Chips
Shuffle Poker Chips

The poker chip shuffle is perhaps the most common chip trick. If you ever watch poker on TV, that riffling noise you usually hear is the result of the players shuffling their chips. If you'd like you can practice this trick in private to get it down, then use it next time you're in a home poker game or at a casino. This will give the other players the impression that you're a seasoned pro who's seen a lot of live action.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Start with two stacks of chips. I prefer to use four chips for each stack.

  2. Step 2

Position your hand so that your thumb is on one side and your middle, ring and pinky fingers are on the other with your index finger in between the two stacks.

  3. Step 3

Pretty easy so far right? Well, this is where it gets challenging. Use your index finger to slightly lift the stacks while guiding them together with your other fingers. If done properly, the bottom chip from the thumb stack will slide over the bottom chip of the other stack, starting a chain reaction that continues all the way up.

  4. Step 4

When you've completed step 3, you'll have something that looks like the formation in this picture.

  5. Step 5

Now all you have to do is push the chips together into one stack. Afterwards, simply cut the stack into two and you're ready to shuffle once more. Once you master this trick, you can shuffle the chips again and again in rapid succession.
