Computers can be very expensive, especially when you account for all of the additional software you purchase. There are many programs available for free online that might be very useful or fun for you to try. CNET is a legitimate and legal site that offers many programs that are free to try, free, available for purchase, or updates to current software.

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Go to www.download.com

  2. Step 2

    Type a keyword in the search box for the kind of software you are looking for.

  3. Step 3

    Narrow the search by selecting "Free" under the license types in the frame on the left side of the web page. You can narrow the search results further if desired.

  4. Step 4

    Browse the search results and read the description and reviews for the software.

  5. Step 5

    Download and install the software.

  6. Step 6

    Use the software and get familiar with it. After you have had the software for a while, leave a review on download.com to share your opinions with other users.
