Make a Heart with Ribbon Links
Make a Heart with Ribbon Links

Ribbon folding is a great craft to learn, it is very beautiful! This is a step by step article with pictures on how to make a heart with ribbon links.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • scissors
  • needle
  • 2 pieces of thread (about 1 foot long each)
  • 1 star ribbon
  • 2 triangles or origami stars
  • 14 ribbon links
  1. Step 1

If you are not familiar with folding ribbon, you will need to learn to create the 'ribbon links' and learn to 'link them together'. Under the resources below, there are video tutorials you can see before attempting this project.

  2. Step 2

Link 3 'ribbon links' together - Make 2 of them (see picture)

  3. Step 3
Make sure it is 8 pieces long.

Make sure it is 8 pieces long.

The rest of the 'ribbon links' will be used together in a straight line by linking 8 pieces together(see picture).

  4. Step 4

Link the 3 piece ribbons to the 8 piece ribbons together (see picture)

  5. Step 5

Link the bottom part of the heart together (see picture)

  6. Step 6

Flip the diaghram around and repeat the same links (should look like this when you are done)

  7. Step 7

Use the needle to string the triangles, using one on each side - use the strings on step 3 (see picture).

  8. Step 8

Use the needle again to put the 'ribbon star' between the two triangles. Tie a knot at the top and hang it up as decoration! (see picture)
