How to Make Smashing Mashed Potatoes

For all those that love mashed potatoes, here's a great way to smash those potatoes with an extra zing that your taste buds will thank you for. Serve these delicious smashing mashed potatoes with your favorite dishes or just enjoy them all by themselves.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 4 to 6 large baking potatoes
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • salt and pepper (optional)
  1. Step 1

    Clean, peal, cut into small cubes and cover with water, 4-6 large baking potatoes in large sauce pan. (Potatoes can also be cooked with skins on if preferred.)

  2. Step 2

    Bring water to a boil, boiling on medium-high heat until potatoes are tender. (About 20-25 minutes)

  3. Step 3

    Drain water from potatoes, add 1/2 cup butter or margarine and 1/3 cup milk.

  4. Step 4

    Mash potatoes with a potato masher, fork or wire whisk until potatoes are smooth. An electric beater may also be used for a creamer result.

  5. Step 5

    Stir in 1/3 cup sour cream and 1/3 cup mayonnaise. Add salt and pepper to taste.

  6. Step 6

    You're Smashing Mashed Potatoes are ready for your enjoyment!

Tips & Warnings
  • Extra milk may be used for a creamer potato.
