How to Make a Tuna Casserole under $5

In these tough times we are all looking for ways to save money. Dinner is the perfect place to cut corners and if you have the right recipe you will not have to sacrifice taste. Check out this recipe for tuna casserole that will feed a family of four for under $5.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 12oz package of noodles
  • 1 can of Campbell's Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 2 cans of tuna
  • 1/2 cup of frozen peas (or canned peas)
  1. Step 1

    Cook noodles according to package (make sure to not overcook). Drain and set aside.

  2. Step 2

    Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
    Defrost peas according to package directions, open and drain tuna.

  3. Step 3

    Combine Campbell's Cream of Mushroom Soup (or your favorite brand) with 1/2 can of milk or water in a saucepan (do not boil).

  4. Step 4

    In a glass casserole dish layer 1/3 of the noodles, followed by one can of tuna and 1/4 cup of peas. Then add 1/3 of the soup. Repeat. Next add the last 1/3 of noodles and 1/3 of the soup on top. Bake for 30 minutes or until top of casserole is slightly browned and hot. Serve and enjoy!

Tips & Warnings
  • Removing the lid of the casserole dish will allow for a nice crispy top.
  • Peas are optional.
