It's an Art
It's an Art

Have you ever had a day when it just seems that you can’t think because it seems everyone in the world is trying to communicate with you at the same time. Well, it is true, the phone rings, there is a knock at the door, the kids are trying to get your attention, the spouse wants your love, your neighbor is in trouble, the church wants you to set up the new fund raiser, the job needs you to work some over time, there is this beeping noise that you just can’t find… etc. inevitably you shut down, you close your mind off to the whole world, you push the ignore button, you go for a walk, you unplug the phone. Your computer will do the same thing. Our computers are highly intelligent entities and they can be over sensitized, so to avoid computer crashes, and unnecessary shut downs, learn to respect your computer and it will not shut down on you. Things You'll Need:

  • Advertising knowledge
  • Keyword knowledge
  • Time
  • Patience
  • Creative skills
  • Research
  1. Step 1
    Spiritual War
    Spiritual War

Learn other more efficient ways of advertising. Spam is like a chain letter... and it jams the system when too many people on the site are doing it. Don’t leave it to the computer to pick for you... by clicking the reply to all you create a spam message that is reused over and over again.

  2. Step 2
    It's the News
    It's the News

To get your articles read participate in the forum news... at least one topic a day or so... it serves a dual purpose; it keeps you informed about what is going on at eHow and it allows you to advertise your articles at the same time. So get involve it is really for your own good.

  3. Step 3
    Not computer generated
    Not computer generated

Send your message to two or three people at a time. Send your ads to new friends, perspective friends, or even old friends that you have not heard from in a long time… Don't ever hit the reply to all key ... that is eHow's biggest problem

  4. Step 4
    Also known as Groups
    Also known as Groups

Join a group or two unless you are like me and do not want to be defined by groups. Commenting on other peoples articles will get you extra exposure. Check out what your friends are doing to promote their ads. Beware of friends that will mislead you.

  5. Step 5
    What is wrong?
    What is wrong?

Since spam is mail sent to me that I did not ask for... ask me and then add me to your personal list of people to send bulk mail to instead of reusing or replying to a message that has already been sent over 3000 times.

  6. Step 6
    The power of suggestion
    The power of suggestion

Be creative with your ads… the title is the most important tool you have… “Hi” works for me. Think television ads or commercials.
Register your articles on places like Digg.com, Google.com/addurl, Yahoo.com/submit… these are free sites.

  7. Step 7
    Traffic directors
    Traffic directors

Become familiar with keywords and how they work… they are good for directing traffic to your site, check the comments on other articles and you will see what I mean.

Tips & Warnings
  • You must learn to lead people to your articles instead of begging them to come.
  • Advertising is time consuming but when it is done correctly and consistently it works.
  • Spam does not save you time it causes you trouble, so why use it?
  • This article is not based on an exact science, but by observation instead. Therefore feel free to add constructive suggestions in your comments.
