Step 1
Go when you have time and it is off-peak hours. It can be overwhelming the first time! Just walk around the store to learn where items are kept, that will help you develop an approach tactic for future visits, avoiding areas that not of interest to you and putting the areas you like on your routine walk through the store.
-
Step 2
Train you eye to look for quality. When walking down the aisle of women's blouses, don't look at individual shirts, instead look for fabrics of high quality. Then look at the color to see if it is a color you would wear. Once these two criteria have been met, finally, look at the shirt.

Step 3
Look for high-end construction. Is the garden bench heavy enough to be wrought iron? Or is it so light that it must be aluminum with a wrought iron finish.
-
Step 4
Look for wear and damage. Check wear on clothes by looking at the high-wear areas. Wrists of jackets and shirts (the part that would be against the keyboard if you were typing on a computer), neck, pockets of coats. Check joints and feet of furniture. Check for all parts on exercise equipment.
