Is your life full of chaos? Could your schedule use some revising. The following is some simple steps you can take to release some stress.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Determination
  • A Plan
  1. Step 1

We know stress is bad for our health. If we want to start getting healthy, we need to start by reducing the chaos causing the stress. So make a list of everything YOU are responsible for (don't leave out anything no matter how insignificant you may think it is). Use your planner, date book, calendar if you have one.

  2. Step 2

Add to this list the activities you do that you are NOT responsible for(again don't leave out anything no matter how insignificant you may think it is). Look your list over and make sure you have not missed anything. Double check your planner, date book, calendar.

  3. Step 3

This is the hardest part. What can you eliminate? Start with everything you wrote that you do that is NOT your responsibility. Can the person responsible for it do it? How about delegating it to someone who isn't as busy or stressed as you. Now do the same with whatever you ARE responsible for. Delegate!

  4. Step 4

Once you see your "true" schedule in front of you, it might surprise you how much stress can be eliminated. If there are things on the list you can take off the list all together, remove them. If you don't do them, will they get done by someone else? Will it be a disaster if it doesn't get done?

  5. Step 5

Once you've revised your schedule and eliminated some of the stress, RELAX! Reading a book. Taking a nap. Soaking in a hot bath. Sipping some hot tea or cocoa. Whatever it is you do to relax, do it. Remember, your health is at stake so spend some time pampering yourself.

Tips & Warnings
  • When making your list, start at the beginning of your day and do the whole week/month.
  • Don't stress over the list, the chaos and the eliminating The idea is to get rid of the stress.
  • You can take things slow. Eliminate one thing this month and another next month. The idea is to work on reducing stress not to cause more.
