Things You'll Need:
- Hammer
- 8 Penny Nails
- 4 20' 2x4
- 1 Sheet of plywood 20'x20'
- skill saw
- square
- Piece of Chain approximately 20-25 inches long
-
Step 1
First thing you will do is to cut all the 2x4s to the desired length.
You need two that measure 20' long
21 boards that are 20" long
3 that are 10" long -
Step 2
You will take 3 of the 20 inch long 2x4s and lay one horizontal and the other two vertical at each end of the first. Take you square lay it inside the corners of vertical and horizontal boards making sure both boards are touching the square. Nail the boards together with the 8 penny nails.
-
Step 3
Now get the three 10 inch 2x4s. At the other end of your 20 inch 2x4 frame lay 2 of the 10 inch boards at a angle towards the middle creating a wedge shape. Move them left or right so the third 10 inch board fits flush in between and nail them together with 8 penny nails.
-
Step 4
Now take your plywood lay it on a flat surface place your frame on top of it flush at all corners. Take a pencil trace around your 10" sides. Use your skill saw and cut out along the lines. Lay the plywood over the frame and nail solid creating your platform.
-
Step 5
Stand your top with the 20" side down and the wedge side up take your 2 remaining 20 foot 2x4 lay them inside the frame with the end of the 2x4 touching the plywood. Use the square to again make sure that it is all true and square. Nail through the top of the platform into the 20' 2x4 legs and also through the side of the platform and into the legs.
-
Step 6
Measure down one foot from the top on both 2x4 legs. place a step between the two 2x4s with the 20" boards cut earlier and repeat all the way down one foot at a time until you get to the bottom should be about 18 steps. Finally take the small chain nail it to onside of the wedge and use it to secure your stand to the tree of your choice.
