Step 1
Is the rental in a good location? Is this truly a popular place to vacation or is it just a place you like. Make sure that the rental will have enough tourist traffic to keep your rental occupied. What are the off seasons? How long is the “in” season. If you want to use it as well, can you use it in the “off” season and still love it?”

Step 2
Look for vacation rentals that cater to families. It is a much bigger market than couples. The rentals should be sturdier to handle children and not have fragile items. Look for properties located near family themed attractions.
-
Step 3
Does the vacation rental feel like home? The rentals should be well stocked with home-like qualities. Things like air conditioning, fully stocked kitchens (plates, utensils, pans…not food), televisions, and DVD players are important. People look for vacation rentals over hotels so they can cook and feel more at home than they would in a hotel.
