Instructions

    • 1

RINSE THE COFFEE STAIN WITH WARM WATER: For cottons, linen and other similar fabrics, start by rinsing the coffee stain with luke warm water. Quick action after a stain occurs is the key to treating a coffee stained clothing item or fabric.

    • 2

GET SOME BOILING HOT WATER: Put some water in the microwave until the water boils. In the absence of boiling water, run the hot water tap until it gets as hot as it will go. Place the boiling water in a clean coffee cup or a pot.

    • 3

POUR THE BOILING WATER ON THE FABRIC OR CLOTHING COFFEE STAIN: To remove coffee stains from shirts, pants, or other clothing items, tablecloths or other fabrics, place the stained item in the sink. Lift the cup or pot of boiling water a distance of 2 to 3 feet above the coffee-stained item. Pour the hot water onto the stain from the height of 2 to 3 feet; this stain removal method is effective in removing coffee stains from the individual fibers of the fabric.

    • 4

IF THE COFFEE STAIN IS REMOVED...Launder the coffee stained item as usual as soon as possible. If traces of the coffee stain are still visible, continue on to steps 5, 6 and 7.

    • 5

WASH THE COFFEE STAINED CLOTHING OR FABRIC WITH SOAP: Use some soap (laundry detergent is best, but if you don't have laundry detergent, dish soap or hand soap will suffice) to scrub the coffee stain. Rinse thoroughly.

    • 6

SOAK THE FABRIC OR CLOTHING WITH THE COFFEE STAIN IN DIAPER WASH: Get a diaper wash solution containing sodium percarbonate and treat the coffee stain by soaking the clothing or fabric in the solution overnight.

    • 7

LAUNDER THE STAINED CLOTHING OR FABRIC ITEM AS USUAL: Launder the clothing, tablecloth or other fabric item with the coffee stain as soon as possible. Use color-safe bleach like Clorox 2 Color Safe Bleach with a good quality detergent for optimal stain removal and best stain cleaning results.

Tips & Warnings

  • The sooner you treat a coffee stain, the better your chances will be of completely removing the stain from your shirt, skirt, pants, tablecloth, etc.

  • USE CAUTION WHEN POURING HOT, BOILING WATER! There is a potential for injury when pouring hot, boiling water on the coffee stain from a height of 2 to 3 feet. Stand back as far as possible and go slowly to avoid splashing hot water onto your skin.
