Colitis, or inflammation of the colon cam cause abnormal and difficult bowel movements, constipation, and bloody poop. There are ways to treat colitis at home and this article will show you how to do so.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Eating these foods will be very helpful to you in treating ulcerative colitis: ripe bananas and rice. These all have low fiber content which will be very soothing for colitis. Also they work as easily digestible laxative.

  2. Step 2

    Some of the very helpful drinks are buttermilk (1 cup per day), water of a tender coconut, and 1 tsp of drumstick leaf juice with honey. All of these are soothing to the colon and will work as medicine for colitis.

  3. Step 3

    Enemas are also great for colitis. Some of the more effective enemas are warm water enemas, wheat grass enemas (after a warm water enema), and buttermilk enemas.

  4. Step 4

    Eat steamed vegetables, rice, and cottage cheese. These are safe and are digested easily. Avoid sugar, seasonings, fats, and alcoholic beverages.

  5. Step 5

    Rest is very important in the healing process. Get plenty of sleep and rest.
