Now you can put your window screen together

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • screen installation tool
  • framing square
  • 1/2" x 1/2" x 8' long piece of wood
  • 1 1/2" finish nails
  • hammer
  • flat wood surface
  • pencil
  1. Step 1

Draw a 90 degree angle line on your flat wooden surface with your framing square,

  2. Step 2

Cut the 1/2" piece of wood in two and nail them down, outside the 90 degree line. This is to hold the frame in a 90 degree angle while you roll the screening spline in to hold the screen to the frame.

  3. Step 3

After you carefully measure and cut your screen frame, install the corners to hold the frame together

  4. Step 4

drop your frame inside the 90 degree angle that you made with the 1/2" x 1/2" wood. Hold the frame to your 90 degree guide and lay your piece of screen on top of the frame.

  5. Step 5

Using your screen tool, start on one corner and push in the screen spline with your screen tool, when you get around to install the spline pull the screen relax flat cause the screen spline will pull it tight.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can drive few nails on both side of the screen frame so it will hold the frame straight while you install the screen and the screen spline.
  • If you have nails inside the screen opening , it has to be lower than the top of the frame, otherwise it will puncture the screen
  • Make sure the screen is not wrinkle
  • always wear safety goggles
